PSTN Switch Off
The PSTN switch off means every Broadband, WLR and ISDN connection must be changed. The approaching 2025 deadline increases the urgency to move to Single Order broadband while also fuelling the need for IP telephony, reflecting the shift to a connectivity-led communications approach for businesses and consumers alike. Following Openreach’s announcement in 2015 about the PSTN and ISDN withdrawal, the fibre rollout has accelerated with Ofcom reporting that fibre broadband is now available in 28.6 million homes and businesses. The FTTP rollout is gathering pace across the UK, giving the Channel a once in a decade switch sale opportunity. As more businesses are looking to upgrade and future-proof their connectivity, the full fibre opportunity is going to be huge this year.
5G is a predominant game-changer in the mobile industry and presents huge opportunities for Channel partners. The hardware vendors are increasing their portfolio of 5G enabled devices, and the major mobile networks have all made 5G connectivity available at the core of their business propositions. However, the true potential of 5G is further down the road, with a range of benefits to business connectivity and collaboration. As the IoT evolves, the vastly increased speeds, lower latency and greater capacity of 5G will become even more significant.
Launch of TechStore
This year will see the launch of TechStore, our flagship hardware procurement site, exclusive to Digital Wholesale Solutions partners. TechStore will give partners access to over 150,000 products from over 100 tech brands with pricing, availability and shipping sourced directly from the UK’s biggest hardware distributors.

The work from anywhere trend is going from strength to strength with customers moving their businesses to the Cloud, displacing all on-premise IT.
